At the Animal Medical Center, our goal is to continuously improve the quality of life of our patients and the well-being of our community by providing high quality, cost effective veterinary health care that exceeds our clients’ expectations.  Our staff is devoted to providing the best medical, surgical, and emergency veterinary care available.

Animal Medical Center combines a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital with medical and surgical expertise to optimize the treatment options for your pet.  We believe that medical care does not end with a doctor’s visit, but also includes preventive health and hygiene.  That is why we also offer complete grooming and boarding facilities as well.

You may bring your pet in for an emergency visit any time of the day or night.  Veterinarians are in the hospital 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide immediate care.  Please call ahead and so we can expedite your arrival.

There’s no such thing as “my case” or “your case” at California Veterinary Specialists in Carlsbad, Calif. Every doctor shares cases, information, and expertise to make sure that every patient and client receives top-notch care. So it stands to reason that when the five co-owners were designing their third facility together since 2003, they wanted a building that would reflect their no-barriers business approach.

“The fishbowl”: Large windows provide visual contact between the treatment area and doctors’ workstations to better integrate patient care. This airy, open room serves as the hub of the hospital.

With a little time and a lot of thought, the doctors converted an existing structure into the practice’s third facility, using an open space designed to foster a shared sense of community. The Veterinary Economics Hospital Design Competition judges found favor with the facility, granting the practice a 2008 Merit Award. The judges praised the doctors’ use of glass throughout, great floor plan, and attention to detail.

Mission Statement

The shelter is a public service organization responsible for protecting animal owners, non-owners and domestic animals aboard the base. It accomplishes its mission through the vigorous enforcement of base regulations concerning the ownership of domestic animals. The shelter also strives to offer humane education and to control the pet population on the base by enforcing housing regulations in cooperation with the Base Housing Office.

The shelter provides many services while accomplishing its mission. It also protects animals from abuse and neglect, rescues sick or injured animals, and places qualified animals in the adoption program.

Adoption Information

The adoption process is customer friendly. We ask that the whole family come to the shelter and interact with the animal. If the family is adopting a dog and currently own another dog, we ask that they bring their animal with them and we will do a dog-to-dog interaction. If an adoption match is found, the animals are ready to go to their new homes that day.
