The National Cat Protection Society (NatCat) is a non-profit, no-kill 501(c)(3) animal shelter and adoption organization dedicated to cats and kittens. Founded in 1968, we care for owner-relinquished kitties until they find a proper home or need a retirement home.
Located in Orange County and San Diego, our two local animal shelters offer clean, comfortable and safe open rooms, kitten quarters and "outdoor access" in large, enclosed patio areas. In our retirement centers are floor-to-ceiling scratching posts, wall-to-wall walkways and other health-promoting designs.
Our trained staff and dedicated volunteers share a tremendous love for cats and selfless commitment to their well-being. We also provide humane education throughout our communities. After purr-using our website, we hope you will consider supporting our organization through adoption, volunteering, memberships or donations—from Southern California or your kitty-corner of the world.

string(1541) " The City of Laguna Beach Animal Shelter was started in 1975 by a group of dedicated volunteers, The Pet Responsibility Committee (now PUP Laguna Beach), who lobbied the City of Laguna Beach to purchase the old Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals building on Laguna Canyon Road for use as a shelter. Today, the shelter serves the residents of Laguna Beach and Laguna Woods by providing temporary care of sick, injured, and strayed or abandoned animals rescued by the animal services officers in the City of Laguna Beach and the City of Laguna Woods.
The shelter is funded by the City of Laguna Beach and supported by generous donations. Donations to PUP Laguna Beach fund the rehabilitation of our animals that require medical attention so that healthy pets can be put up for adoption. Donations are also used to help rescue dogs and cats. Please visit our Donor page for more information on how you can contribute to the future adoption of a pet.
At any one time, the facility houses dogs, cats, birds, and a small number of other animals. Every abandoned animal that comes through the Shelter is held for seven days for reclaiming by its owner. As a small community, the claim-rate is extremely high at 80%. We have been very fortunate to receive support from our community, the local veterinarians, the Pacific Wildlife project, the Bluebell Cat Foundation, and the citizens who appear with helping hands whenever there is a fire or flood in the canyon. We greatly appreciate the tremendous support from the community! "

string(1283) "People love pets. They're cute, cuddly and fun! But having a pet involves much more than just love. There's a huge commitment involved; pets need food and water, medical care and lots of attention. Unfortunately, with all of these responsibilities, many people find that they are in over their heads. The result is a large number of unwanted pets. That's where OC Animal Care comes in. We take in more than 30,000 dogs, cats, bunnies, and other pets in Orange County each year! In addition to the daily feed, shelter and medical care provided to each pet at our shelter, OC Animal Care strives to be proactive in placing pets by offering monthly adoption events, working with hundreds of non-profit rescue groups and encouraging our community members to become volunteers and foster caretakers.
OC Animal Care promotes: responsible pet ownership; health and safety of people and animals and spay/neuter programs. OC Animal Care provides temporary shelter and medical care for "lost" owned or stray animals and opportunities for adoption of these animals. OC Animal Care houses and provides medical care for impounded dogs, cats and exotic animals.
The Care Center provides pet licensing and patrol services to 17 contract cities and all the unincorporated areas of the County."
