It is with great pride that I announce the next big milestone for our organization. After 21 years of supporting needy pet families in our community, we have grown our wings and are ready to fly.
Our mission to provide pet services and support to low-income pet families who are seniors, chronically ill and disabled remains stronger than ever. Our in-home delivery program of pet food and services is hugely successful and still growing. The Pantry program that we launched last year is thriving and has already outgrown the space we have. We are ready to meet the needs of more veterans, the homeless and those in temporary economic crisis. We have plans to set up new programs, including one for victims of domestic violence.

Providing Service Dogs for Active Military, Veterans, and First Responders with PTSD
OUR MISSION
To renew the life of veterans and first responders through service dog placement, training, and education by mobilizing public and private resources.
OUR VISION
Next Step Service Dogs (NSSD) supports courageous veterans, active military personnel, and first responders with PTSD, TBI and/or mobility limitations by giving them the tools to take the next steps forward in their lives by assisting in the training of amazing service dogs.
NSSD is reducing the surging demand for well-trained and effective service dogs by supporting clients in training their own dogs for service, or by pairing them with suitable donated dogs to train. Additionally, Next Step provides paying jobs and career opportunities to unemployed, or underemployed, veterans; teaching them to train service dogs for other veterans with invisible disabilities.
NSSD does not charge for service dogs or their training, and supports each service dog throughout its life.
