If you are unable to pay the low cost fee for the procedure, you can speak with a volunteer about funding. Our mission is to prevent the abuse and abandonment of unwanted pets through the spay and neuter of cats, dogs and rabbits. We have branches throughout Southern California from Antelope Valley down to San Diego. We have been helping pets and pet owners since 1955. string(697) "The Spay Neuter Action Project was co-founded in 1990 by a group of woman volunteering at the local municpal shelter. Candy Schumann, Barbara Rosenbaum, Rosemary Shelton, Diane Caulkins, and Maggie Houlihan figured out that after seeing countless stray animals come and go, they knew that adoption alone wasn't going to solve the problem! There were simply too many unwanted animals and not enough homes! Theses volunteers realized that to reduce the number of animals euthanized in shelters every year, it would be necessary to reduce the numbers of homeless animals coming into the shelters in the first place.

string(702) "Our Services: We help pet owners who are looking for a referral to a great low cost spay/neuter vet near them. We have the information on how to get the spay/neuter vouchers from San Diego Animal Services. If you want to make a donation to help us, please visit our other website at www.petassistancefoundation.org and use Paypal."

Providing $25 neuter and $50 spay coupons for pet owning residents in DAS service areas while supplies last. Visit our website for a list of clinics who participate in the Veterinarian Subsidized Spay/Neuter Program.
The Spay Neuter Action Project was co-founded in 1990 by a group of woman volunteering at the local municpal shelter. Candy Schumann, Barbara Rosenbaum, Rosemary Shelton, Diane Caulkins, and Maggie Houlihan figured out that after seeing countless stray animals come and go, they knew that adoption alone wasn’t going to solve the problem! There were […]
Cat AdopTion Service is a no-kill, volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and permanent placement of homeless cats and kittens. We have no “Main shelter”; instead, we have a network of foster homes throughout San Diego County where our cats reside when they are not at an adoption location.
Feral cats are the offspring of stray or abandoned pets that are not spayed or neutered. Female cats can become pregnant at five months of age and can give birth several times each year. Without early human contact, their kittens become feral and begin the cycle of breeding again.
Petfinder is made up of animal-care professionals and regular people volunteering for their local animal welfare organizations all working together to maintain active and accurate homeless pet lists. Most animal welfare volunteers have “real jobs” by day. The success and the magnitude of this project is largely due to their tireless efforts to make a […]
Labrador Harbor was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in late 2005 to provide charitable funds to private citizens or non-profit rescue organizations that directly benefit the immediate physical well-being of Labrador Retrievers. We believe there are too many labs who are euthanized simply because loving families and supporters simply do not have the financial […]
Paws of Coronado was founded in 2003 as a non-profit animal welfare organization. The team at PAWS believes that “Saving the life of one animal will not change the world, but for that one animal the world will change forever!”
Parrot Education & Adoption Center (PEAC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to educating current and potential bird owners on the proper care of companion parrots. Based in San Diego and covering all of Southern California, PEAC began operations in 1996. Unwanted or found parrots are accepted at PEAC. While in the foster program […]
